‘Common person wey no common’ is what a fan called Burna on the release of his latest vibe – Common Person.

Burna Boy dropped the video of this song on 30 January 2023 and it already has 9+ million views. Hailed by many as one of Burna’s fine works, the lyrics is saying that like everyone else he is a ‘common person’, hence the quote (above) from a fan.

Oluwa Burna was trying to say that he should be looked at like any other person, like the car wash guy or the cook or the shop worker, that everyone has a role to play in this life and his role as an artist and a celebrity does not mean he is more than these other people.

The video translates this further with Burna going to meet “normal” people of a community, helping them and trying to blend in with them.
