He is making waves on social media with his single ta ta ta having become the latest signing at Mavin Records.
Bayanni is slowly proving to become a force to be reckon, with potential to get on a worldwide stage like Rema has done in recent times.
Born Abimbola Oladokun on 25th June 1997, to now proud parents, Bayanni never knew the day would come where his dreams would seem more of a reality.
Don Jazzy, CEO of Mavin Records made that day possible on 22nd of August when he was officially announced.
The upcomer was studying Accounting at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) when he began pursuing music. Going under the name Zhenoboy – a nickname given to him in school – he would upload videos of himself singing covers of songs, including Davido’s Jowo and Fireboy DML’s Peru.
When he upload, he would also tag the artists.
“He was discovered through social media”
Recalling December 22 2019, the faithful day he received a message from Don Jazzy, Bayanni told the Guardian NG: “I was posting freestyles back to back on Instagram. He saw one of them and came into my DMS at midnight on December 22, 2019.
“He sent me a message. I didn’t see it until 5:30 am. I was thinking he wasn’t even going to see it, but when I sent a message he replied almost immediately. He told me to come to the studio. He played some beats and asked me to record with them. He heard one of the songs and loved it.”
Since then Don Jazzy has been nurturing the 25 year old for the music world. They agreed to change the name from Zhenoboy to Bayanni, a Philippine word that means a fearless person.
On his introduction to the world day in August 2022, he unveiled his four track EP that included ‘Family’, ‘Body’, ‘Ta Ta Ta’, and ‘Kala’.
So far ta ta ta is fairing the best among the tracks.
There is much more to come from the aspiring upcoming talent.
